Haven't been detecting in a long time. But it was getting dark before I could head out

So we went to the bookstore instead. On the way there I was looking at the change in her center console, when the edge of a dime caught my eye. 1964 dime. It wasn't dug, and I didn't receive it in change, but I'm counting it anyway

It just so happens that our Metal Detecting Forum awards have a new category this month, for those non-detector finds!

It's called the "Wild Card" award.

This was newly created to give a nod to those cool finds that might not have been found with a detector, so everyone can participate, and this award category can even include nonmetallic artifacts.

Be sure to enter your nondug dime into the "Wild Card" category.

Then get that detector out and go dig up a Seated one.

Good eye spotting the silver. You need to teach your wife the difference between what silver and clad coins feel like in hand and what silver coins sound like when they are clanking around with clad coins. Also be sure to point out the differences in appearance. You could have lost that dime at the next toll booth. Hopefully she'll know to check her change a little more closely next time.
