NO...DIGITAL. It's a bit smaller than individual obv. and rev. but I think it's cool. Here was the OLD format...

Is this the JPEG2000 format, or what?
If it is, it's not all that 'new'.

The format is .jpeg, so what is this 'new' format?

OR are you talking about a new layout???

ajia- JB is referring to the cleaner layout for his images where the slab is cropped out of the background. Maybe to be technically accurate he should have said layout instead of format. image

That layout is very nice, but how much work is it to do?

image Very, Very, Nice. Please tell me how you got your scanner to do this. It's probably operator error but I can't get my scanner to do pictures clear enough without exceeding the 50kb limit?? Lee

    Lee,

These are digital pics enhanced and laid out using photo software. With digital you can shrink to 50kb and still retain some size and resolution. I have these on my computer where they fill the page. That's nice to look at.

Let's just ballpark it at 10x10+15K...the 08-S, probably around 65K. It's so borderline 66 that it would bring a nice premium. But I think i'll wait a decade.image

ADDENDUM. Look at Heritage archives..there was a 08-S ms66 that just went for 75K and frankly this one is nicer. I've seen the other.

terrible layout. it should be a humongous digi-pic of the slab, & a teensie weensie dot about 2 mm in diameter that's the coin. i mean, who cares what the coin looks like, all we really wanna see is the slab insert! THAT'S what matters!!!

SOFTWARE...I'll defer that to boiler78...he did them for me with my pics.

So do you all like the pics WITH the labels or no labels? For MY archives the labels help, but if I submit any, I'd have to redo them...or boiler would!image

Actually, I agree with Karl. Lose the label.

    Do something like this instead:

Do what Jom said but make the text smaller. Only time I would want to see the label like that is if it was an image for an eBay auction.

Thanks for the feedback..I'm totally unsure now!!image

I do also have full screen pics of obv. and rev. so I do have two different layouts.

I prefer pictures without labels or telling us what the coin is. If you are doing these for the registry, just being in the registry tells us what the coin is. You can get some pretty large pictures of just the coin with the 100k limit.
  • saintgurusaintguru Posts: 7,724 ✭✭✭
It's not for anything in particular. Certainly I don't have any Ebay coins, and I'm not putting them on the registry for whatever reason. It's just for my archives and I'm obsessing over a minute detail. imageimage

I disagree with the ones w/o the PCGS label , I tend to think it leads more credence to the coin and all. Also looks better the plain lettring looks cheesy cheap - JMHO but so it is, and if you're into details the way I think you are you'll hate anything short of your first post which is super.

I disagree. A coin like that stands on it's own, and I think it is a waste of space to include the label.
