    Braddick,

Can you "explain" the toning? image

Seriously, it is slabbed but that is some funky toning.....since you have dealt in more than a few toned ikes, any ideas on this one?

Don't get me wrong...I like it too, which is why I asked about it.
I am trying to imagine....album toning? Tissue tonight (don't think so).
Other coins on it (not sure)?

I am trying to figure out how the tonight occurred.

Personally, I believe this Ike was housed using two different mediums at two different times.

The colors blend the way I like to see authentic toning look and is 'under the luster' as apposed to being incrusted on top of it. Edited to add: The colors are ever so slightly washed out in the photos and are more vibrant and deep in person.

    Thanks for noticing that Puff.....

    Pat,

Thanks for the thought on the toning....that makes a little more sense to me.
I've wondered what coins in 2 different albums would look like...this may be it.

Pat, received your PKOK IKE in PR 67DCAM today. It is an extraordinary coin.

The toning is exquisite in its subtlety and would appear to be near impossible to

take a photo of adequately. What a wonderous thing a toned coin can be. It seems that Mother Nature

is truly a master painter, of dreams.

Bear, I'm thrilled you liked that one. It truly was my favorite, authentic Peacock Ike from the known hoard. Those bluish/green mirrors are next to impossible to capture and you trusted my auction desciption.

Although not a Peacock, this Ike featured on this Thread registers a TEN on the Wow meter!
