I have a Australia penny from 1941. How much is the value?

  • In the 2005 Standard Catalog of World Coins a 1941 KM#36 in at least Fine grade, is valued between 25¢ and $1,600, depending on mint mark, condition, and whether it is a proof or business strike.

    what if there is no mint mark on it?

  • If there truly is no mint mark, then it should be from the Melbourne mint. Values range from $0.30 - $45.

    However, look a little closer. You may see the initials KG above the roo's tail. Is so, then it is from the Perth mint. If no initials are present then look for a dot after the word "PENNY". This too is from the Perth mint. Values range from $0.25 - $90.
