<< <i>Too much black on the obverse and the 2/3 pattern on the reverse leaves me cold. >>
My guess is the "black" is probally just a combination of shadow and darker toning... And it looks like a Franky pic too... has his hump prints all over it And I find the reverse very interesting... kinda hard to find nicely toned Peace dollars, isn't it?
A little "splotchy" on the obverse (near the date) and a little uneven pattern on ther reverse, but overall one of the nicest toned Peace dollars I've seen. I LIKE it.

Not for me, I just have to walk over to my safe.
As for the question at hand. I like it, but I'm not in love with it. Don't get me wrong it's a nice coin, it really depends on the premium you paid for the color.

Looks very nice to me. To those talking about the pattern of toning, you must remember Peace Dollars tone differently than Morgans due to a number of factors, but the most likely is the different way that planchets were prepared in 1921 and later.
I like the reverse toning itself, but not its incompleteness. Overall, I'm neutral on that coin. It has both positive and negative attributes, to my eye. I neither hate it nor love it.
For the grade that the coin is and the toning the coin has I think Tassa did quite well - I've seen the coin in hand and it is definitely off beat - but I like those types of coins. Definitely has some luster and the splotchyness is typical for Peace dollars - overall I thought it was a very fine purchase
It's nice to have the 'Perfect" look to toning. But if it occurs naturally and more-so on Peace dollars we just have to weigh out the eye-appeal and such. If people want all toning to be so perfect and even, perhaps someone can "Make" you one.
BTW, Frankly, Frank.... that sig line has got to GO!!!!!
