Those are caused by placing the coin between two pieces of leather and hitting the sandwich with a mallet over and over again. Exactly why people felt obsessed to do this I don't know, but I do know it's not a mint caused error coin.

This is cool but getting outta hand.....I guess that I will collect and post pics of "the most obscure methods of coin manglement known to man"
