    Well, I'm no expert on Jeffs, but one thing's for sure, any seller who is that rude to a potential buyer just for asking a question is someone I prefer to avoid.

    You people must be newbies. The 1939/4 overdate is the result of re-using the 1934 dies in 1939.

    I can see the strike doubling P on the 1996, but the other current auctions.

    I see the 4, but I see other overdate numbers too! He missed seeing the 9 over 8 and the 3 over 0. That obviously is the rare 1939 over 1804 Jefferson nickel! (even rarer than the 1804 dollar!) In 1804 a copper-nickel five cent piece was planned with then-President Jefferson's portrait. However a shortage of nickel and public resistance to "fiat money" caused this coin to be postponed and dies were put away for 135 years.In 1939, a new date was stamped over the old and the dies were finally used.

    If the new "nickel" had been made in 1804, it would have bore the image of each succeeding President. Image what the Fillmore or Nixon nickels would have been like, or imagine the rare 1913 Taft (instead of Liberty) nickel being worth millions!imageimageimage

    Right, this guy's on the ball... He probably found these the same place he got all his 1964 Peace Dollars from, along side of his many rolls of Aluminum 1974 Indian Head/Wheat Cent coins! -- The seller of this item is obviously trying to pull a scam. He's a goof! Caveat Emptor!

    nice, If you need the email the seller returned to me, let me know. Also I see the seller ended the auction early, what does that say. I have the emails stored away so let me know. That is B.S. and the seller is indeed a moron. LOL.image

    also give ebay this thread id so they can see what real numismatist think about these coins!!!!!
