Anyone collect certified foreign gold?

Just cruising around eBay today and noticed that there are many 1/5 to 1/2 oz sized and attractively priced MS gold coins out there. Not just your common angels and roosters, either. For just a little over melt and in the $100 to $150 range, you can get MS 63 to MS65 NGC or PCGS slabbed mid-19th to early 20th century pieces like these:

I know that the comparison of these types of coins to their lightside counterparts is an old one, but it is hard to believe that an 1850-something $5 eagle in MS63 will run you 5x as much as these pieces, easy. That Danish 20K is really tempting me

I have two certified ones. A rooster and a 20 franc swiss coin. Both NGC 64s. I had them slabbed for fun.

I think there is great value in those type gold coins. I'm actually waiting for the price of gold to go back down so I can snag some more.

I like the design of those Danish "mermaid" coins. Their mintage is pretty low, too, compared to the roosters and sovereigns.

Slabbed, no. You'll find that each series has its own characteristic trend for price over spot. Also, unless it's rare, there's really little or no premium up through MS-63; normally it starts rising about MS-65.
