Brown copper post.

I believe it was Shylock waxing poetic about the wonders of copper last night. I decided to take a few pictures of brown copper that I have. There is a complexity to the surfaces of brown and RB copper that's very nice to look at. got any more brown copper?

While not brown, this Lincoln proved to be very difficult to image due to the color shifts.

BTW: Excellent images, mgoodm3. Small copper coins are exceedingly difficult to image.

Here's one. Notice the base of the 2 digit under the ribbon and hair curl junction.
    Also it's a shallow N reverse.

I believe the coin is flawless except for a oil (or some liquid) strike-through in the wreath at 10:00 (but that was mint-made)

There's something very warm about brown copper. I love it.

I prefer milk chocolate, but dark chocolate is fine and semi-sweet is scrumptious. image

It's not MS, but it does have the brownness that you requested.

Yeah, that was me trying to wax poetic last night. Love all the coins on this thread, especially Rick's 1872 which has beauty, rarity and variety all in one package.

When I think of brown copper BigMoose/Tom T's 1894's are always the first coins that come to mind:

Here's one that Shylock and I both owned at one time, formerly from the Larry Steve collection. It's NGC 66Br, the 1883 with a misplaced 1 in the pearls.

NGC MS64BN... one of my least regrettable purchases ever (especially considering how much I considered not buying it)
