Edited to gleen some sort of response
Hi
Following my storming ebay success and my shameful SSP's it is only fitting that I run a giveaway. There are two prizes, the winner gets the choice and the second place gets the remainder.
Prize one: an uncirculated 2003 UK Jubilee crown (and yes I know the photo is lousy)
Prize two: a grab from Granma Bhimani's change jar of 1940's Indian coins, I'll just put my hand in and you get what comes out!
The winner will be the person that comes closest to guessing the combined (final) selling price of the three UK proof sets I have on ebay.co.uk at the moment. Your guess can either be in UK pounds or US dollars. You can even say zero which is the current bid and have a good chance of winning. The auctions end Sep-06-04 13:39:52 PDT, so your entry must be posted before 12 noon Pacific time on Labor day.
Have fun

What's the deal on these auctions anyway? The item is in CA, but you are only giving shipping for shipping to the UK???

You can guess in either pounds or dollars, if you see the items via ebay.com you should see the price in both currencies.
I have listed the shipping to the UK as they are listed on ebay.co.uk. I have had better sales of UK coins this way in the past, but it doesn't seem to be working for me this time!
I will add US shipping to the listings. Also any advice on the best way to sell UK coins while I am based in the US would be welcome!

But
newsman just won over LindeDad. You were both about one bid increment away but newsman was closer by 6 pence!
So newsman please PM me with your address and I will send you the remaining prize

<< <i>I'll bet there are some snipers lurking. >>
Well, I guess there was only one, and he sure can't compete with Cosmicdebris in the sniping arena.
Thank for the giveaway. I'm looking forward to what comes out of the Indian grab-bag - at least it will be from the right continent for my collecting interests, and I'm sure Newsman will enjoy the Crown.

Cool! That would definitely have been my choice. I'm glad it worked out.

but what I received is a beautiful silver 1939 1/4 rupee from the Bombay mint, KM#544, with the George VI "first head". The reverse strike has just plain gorgeous detail.
Thank you Dr. Jules for a great giveaway!
