Hey you know what the BRM DID with the 2004 Britannia's???????

They issued a 2004 PROOF £2 Britannia and I did not know it until now.
This is weird because they usually only issue proofs on a design change??????????
The 2004 proof will feature:
To further enhance its beauty, the coin is struck using a combination of two very special Proof finishes; the obverse bearing Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of the Queen, is struck with the familiar Proof finish while the reverse features an exquisite satin Proof finish. Issue limit of 5,000.
I ordered my one tonight.

Hmm the 2004 proof has been out for some time. I hope you can still get one, the BRM has a habit of advertising items on the website that are sold out.
You are right that they usually only issue proofs on a design change but maybe they will put out proofs every year as they sell, just like the US mint.
