U.S Coin designs...if I were king for a day

Scrap the current designs and revive the following.....

1c...Flying Eagle
5c...Buffalo
10c...Mercury
25c...SLQ

Scrap the half...but if we must have one...Walking Liberty

I love the old designs, but I do think the past should stay in the past. I refuse to believe that art is dead in America. Were I king o' da mint, I'd seek out the most talented artists and sculptors -- a quest for a 21st century Augustus St Gaudens. Then I'd have them design a new millennium Liberty motif. Something artistic that reflects the sensibilities of today. And then I'd make sure the engravers and bean-counters didn't muck them up to the point of unrecognizability. I'd ban the cent, and tell Virginia to go shove it about the nickel -- I'm putting whatever I want on it. I'd make the half dollar a circulating commemorative, with a design change every year. Then I think I'd eat a sandwich and take a nap. That's a lot of work for a morning...
