PSA used to pedigree sets. They no longer do so. It was the most amazing run of graded T-206s ever accumulated at the time. I believe it still stands the test of time as being the best T-206 set ever assembled, although Don L. will probably surpass him in the next year or so.

PSA no longer does this - although PCGS and generally in the coin world, coin pedigrees actually add significant value to collections.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I can't recall the exact criteria for getting a set "pedigreed", but it had to be a pretty remarkable accomplishment for PSA to award that recognition. I also seem to recall the collector had to pay for the cards to be reholdered. Several years ago they discontinued that program.

Not that I'm disputing that statement, but why would it add value unless the collector is a celebrity like Wayne Gretzky?

Come on dude, there are a few card collectors who think they are celebrities in the collecting world.

I know the ego's are there if they restart the practice.

    Loves me some shiny!

On PSA's website they had a blurb about pedigrees. Basically you had to pay for the privilege, and they also had to agree that it was worth it, a really significant set or collection. There are many pedigreed books in the CGC slabbed comics collecting world. Almost too many, and that's probably why PSA stopped. Their DB is messy enough, especially when you factor in the registry.
