Are you thinking this insidious auction might be featuring a replica Bust quarter (Gallery Mint) with the reverse shield tooled? image

I'm thinking that there may have been a hole in miss liberty's head at some point.

it's not an EF, but it's not a "golf ball marker" grade, either.

plenty of detail, plenty of damage, I'd pay VG money for it, but it will no doubt go higher.

  • I see a truncated serif on the 'I' in Liberty. Maybe it's the rare Accented Hair Bust Quarter Marty has been searching for all his life. image

I see the filled hole on the head and the marks on the shield suggest soldering. This was a jewelry piece at one point in it's life. I wouldn't bid more than VG money for it, and I think that's being generous.

although this is a scumbag seller, i don't think the coin's holed. just surface damage/corosion.

  • If you check the pics in his other auctions, several of them have a blurry area like the reverse on this one. Looks to me like he's got a dirty lens! Or, they could be photoshopped, and if so, very poorly done.

Wow. I'll say this went higher than VG--$836.22 last time I checked. Unbelievable.

finished at $860. B4, isn't it? this one looks a lot like Browning's plate coin, weak areas on the reverse and all.

Obviously cleaned, the linked coin still has strong details and went for strong VF money
