Hi folks, just dropping in for a quick visit. I hope all is well here in the forum. Have I missed any big happenings here?

Here is a fourth in an infrequent series documenting my renaissance to digicam.
Here we have the scanner image:
Here is the digicam image. The color is much more accuarately depicted as well.
The coin is in a slab, so there are issues with picture quality even in the case of the digpic.

As a photo nut I love comparison threads like this. Your digicam photo shows how a bit of natural shadow adds depth and a more realistic multi-dimensional look to the coin.
I used no fancy tricks, just mounted my camera on a crummy mini-tripod and used a single OTT light placed behind the coin at a sufficient distance to prevent glare. There was only a slight angle to the shot to prevent stray reflections from the lens being captured. I snapped each side four times and took the best shot for each when copying and pasting.
