PCGS wooden storage boxes

Evening David,

I really like the new wooden PCGS storage boxes. They look great and are extremely functional.

The issue has been raised in a thread that they may, however, contribute to unknown degrees of toning due to gases in wood that are given off and absorbed through the slabs. I do not begin to claim to understand the science here.

I can't believe PCGS would sell anything that might negatively impact the coins in their slabs. Would you be able to shed some light on this?

We believe the wooden storage boxes are not a problem. We are doing some accelerated life-cycle testing to make sure.
