Are you going to buy them and look for accented hairs?

Seems to me he is being honest and up front. Maybe no AHs here, but possibly some high grade and/or cameo stuff. With that many sets, might be a nice score since the per set price is probably going to be pretty cheap.

Sounds like a smart man to me. Just for that bit of wisdom, I'll throw him a bid.

    I'll biteimage

Doubt I'll win, plus there $25 worth of added charges on those.image

  • No, he said he cherrypicked them already and didn't find what he was looking for which is why they were up for sale. I bet this guy has had dealer offers for stuff in the past, which is why he's selling directly to the collectors. There's a lot of shady characters who own coin shops that would pay this guy a tenth of what the stuff is actually worth, even allowing for markup.

We're talking 60 sets here. I don't think $25 s/h is unreasonable. Works out to less than 50¢ per set.
  • Ok !

    Aj

  • I did not accidently bid.

    I will retract that statement.

I did not realize that AJ had bid on the lot when i bid, i retracted my bid and then re-bid a lower amount above AJ !

I apologize to AJ and everybody else !

Every single bidder so far has been a board member! image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Two things, if you look at some of the items he has purchased off Ebay such as rolls of Morgans, he has to be a dreamer and has a lot of time on his hands. Secondly there is nothing wrong with bidding on an auction regardless of who else is bidding on it. Bid what you are willing to pay for it period. If you are a board member and have 14 board members bidding on something, would you care? What is the difference in listing something on the B/S/T Board and solicting offers?
