1857 Large Cent question

Anyone know if it is typical for 1857 Newcomb-4 cents to have weakly struck stars?

I know 1857 N-1 generally come with stars 12 and 13 weak,but I haven't seen many MS N-4's

Also if anyone with experience in this field cares to elaborate on strike characteristics on these I'm interseted in learning.

you can pretty well rely on ANY 1857 to be weakly struck. I always have considerable difficulty grading coins of this date.
