$365!? This one's not even attractive. I bought my 53S graded by PCGS MS66 not that long ago for around 30.00 with shipping. Which one would you prefer?
You guys actually trust what goes on at the auction houses?
Heritage auction prices are a better indicator of the trends than Teletrade IMO. I've heard that shilling goes on quite a bit at teletrade. The 53S posted by 100proof is probably a little low for a 53S, but much closer than the $365 for the one on Heritage.
Heritage will quite often throw coins up for sale with ridiculous prices attached, and in the example I posted they don't include any past auction data or current trends as they do for their coins that the asking price is closer to actual trends.
I prefer untoned pieces, myself, but same coin, same condition, I like yours on the price. You should look into this, though. There may be a trend developing here. Maybe you should try selling yours. You might be able to make enough to buy another one to fill the hole and still keep a nice profit for yourself at the same time.
Woo Hoo! I just searched through an old zip lock baggie of 1953 date coins in cellophane and paper sleeves and found a gorgeous, whiter than white, 53-S 25c. Now where's that submission form....
Holy crap!! $1700.00+ for an MS67 white?? Oh god, I REALLY gotta find that submission form, now.
I should go through the rest of this bag while I'm at it. I bought a lot of 1953 P,D,and S coins a while back and all the nickels, dimes, quarters and halves are pure white and most of the cents are blazing red. I might have a small treasure trove here and not even know it.
