HEY HALL, LATELY YOUR SITE IS SOOOOOO SLOW!

Come on David add some bandwidth or something lately these PCGS threads are soooo slow and just don't refereshimageanyone else have these issues. why you don't want to lose anyone to sleepy hollow now would you image
I've got DSL or Cablevision so problem is NOT on my side - everything else works fine.

    Yeah, they are pretty slow at times. Since one of my jobs is to administer a web site cluster at work I'm very familiar with the issues. It would be interesting to see what their setup is. My guess isn't bandwidth problems but one of several possibilities:

    1. Memory leak in web server
    2. Running off of one server and so not balancing loads
    3. Database server not optimally set up
    4. Database schema itself not optimized for performance/throughput
    5. Maintenance functions being run at same time in such a way as to affect performance

    Its easy to figure out...They are all off busily grading coins and this place is being run by a lone Japanese robot...image

    Lose posters to sleepy hollow? Tried to load their board lately? Takes four times as long as the PCGS board, and I'm currently on a T3 line!

    Join the free world at RCC. Basic NNTP, pure text, no fancy schmancy icon or sig pix, and NO ADS. Fast as all get out. But not everyone can handle truly free speech. No one would delete a Littleton thread on RCC...

    I was wondering if it was on my end or theirs, but yeah, I get refresh and redirect lag a lot here. Maybe it's during server maintenance or something? I can't see there being too many people here during the hours that I get the most lag.


    BTW, I think it's all Marty and Russ' fault for posting so many threads about their latest AH finds. image
