type coin pic o' the week(1832 bust dime)8/29/04, JrGMan, you're gonna love this one!

fell in love with this one the minute I saw it. very curious about the grade. I have two sizes for the obverse, which do people prefer?

I'm finally getting a feel for the camera and I now know why Airplanenut likes shooting big and then reducing: small coins don't work if you shoot small! Hope you enjoy the pics and of course, comments always welcome!

    Great coin and nice pics! I think I like the smaller size better - but the other oen does show nice detail!

    Hi,
    that is a very nice dime! I think I like the smaller scan as well - to me more character comes across in the details and color - however, both seem ever so slighlty out of focus around the area of the date. Great pics!

    Nice dime and pics both...I like the larger pic, though.
    Strong VF. I wouldn't scream if offered as EF. JR-1 if you happen to be interested in die variety.

    nice toning! is that very light even wear on the hair or the way the light hits the coin in the pic? either AU or MS64 or so, which one? On mine, is it vf30 or 35?

    It's off to PCGS right now, hoping for a 63 - 64. I believe it's the high 3 variety that has a little lower pop.

    I would go at least VF35 on the 32.

    It is indeed the high 3 (JR-5), but the common (R-1) variety. image The other die variety with this obverse (JR-7) is truly rare and carries approximately an 8X to 10X premium.

    She's a beauty and the pics... The bigger the better I use a 1600 x 1200 screen.

    It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.

    holy cow! the exact image format I used! I was thinking 1024, but decided I had more leeway with the 1600. It's bigger when it first pops up and takes a little more time to crop, but I think it's worth it.
