rolls from mint

Are the new nickel rolls and state quarter rolls worth purchasing from the mint? Do these items have chance at appreciating?

  • I don't know about the quarters, but I bought some of the nickels...............I feel they have potential down the road, but I am not sure of the minatage so you never know image
  • I think im gonna purchase a couple of the new nickel rolls at the next show, they're only about $4.50 a piece and for some reason I think they have great potential.

  • I think I will buy some from my local post office for $2 plus a 50 cent roll fee.

Well if your going to get them from there, make sure your buying uncirculated coins, otherwise its probably not worth it.

  • They come in the rolls directly like they do from the mint. That is what the clerk said. i saw him crack one open and out poured all of these 2004 nickels.image

  • I bought the nickels LA Purchase and Keel at the Pittsburgh show. I haven't openned the boxes yet. Someone was at the U.S. Mint booth complaining that one os his rolls was H/H and the other T/T. I have openned one of my TX quarters and got one roll T/T form D and a H/T from the P mint. So, all I'm pointing out is that there is NO quarantee when buying from the U.S. Mint that the rolls will be H/T.

  • I bought several mint rolls. Two were pre-toned (rusted) front & back. I was not very happy
    with the quality.

I just saw a number of 2004 mint issued P and D Peace nickel rols sell for $25-35 on the Bay of E

Not bad for a $8.95 mint issue price. I still have 1 set unopened. And just received 2 sets of the Keelboat in the mail.

So the answer to your question is Yes, No and I don't know!

Yes---in the short term they can have fluctuations in price, especially when the mint stops selling them.

No---In the long run there are probably better investments, but most have increased a little up to this point.

    I don't know---If I knew for certain I would be a rich man.
