1939 Jefferson Nickel

Can someone tell me what to look for on the doubled monticello and five cents? The red book picture shows me nothing obvious. I have at least seven of them and want to know if it's obvious. Also, was there something special about the 1952 nickel? I have alot of those also. One looks like a dbl hit on the 2 but I think it's probably man made. Thanks for your time!

  • It should be obvious to the naked eye. If you need magnification then it is not it.

just pull out those 1939's and look at "Monticello" under the building. the doubling is quite strong and unmistakeable, you won't miss it.

There is one of these with mechanical doubling also. It is very strongly doubled to
the west on "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" with much less doubling elsewhere.
    Tempus fugit.
