  • I wouldn't have a cule as to what that would grade, appears to be damaged, hard to tell though.

If this is the seller I think it is, I believe he's about 160 years old and doesn't see very well anymore.

This seller sold me a cleaned dog of a morgan a long time ago- I steer a wide path around any of his listings.......

I could be wrong, but I *think* this is the one who sold me that cleaned "AU" 1934-S Peace dollar I just auctioned off for charity.

Again, I could be wrong. But I'm 90% certain that I'm right.

This guy ranks right up there as one of worst overgraders on eBay. I wouldn't go near anything he sells.

Seems like we have two ends of the spectrum on ebay for seated dimes. The high end MS coins from auction houses and dealers, then the really low end mom and pop coins. Some folks cannot grade and I wish they would not even try. They must assume we are blind or an idiot to bid on this stuff. It is kind of embarrasing to sell really nice original coins on ebay with you are in a flea market atmosphere.

I have a ton of duplicates I will need to move at some point.

Only offered as an explanation, nothing more. Perhaps under all that corrosion there exists a coin with VF details according to Photograde or the ANA guide. I think the guy is trying to explain a damaged (corroded) coin with abundant detail behind the damage that probably doesn't come out well in his scan/photo. At any rate even if this is the case, it should grade VF details, net G/VG corroded, damaged, and sell for VG or less money...whatever that is.

I'm sure the coin looks much better in person. image
  • This seller grossly overgrades coins. I found out first hand. Steer clear.
  • I agree- I bought one coin from this seller and sent it back image. No hassle return, but also overgraded coin.

I bet if you brought coins to sell this person that their grading ability would improve dramatically.
