    well if either happen to be half dimes or dimes, they were made previously to 1860

    I can't guess as to if it has the motto or not from the obverse.

    Quarter: early 1860's
    dollar: don't know
    Half-dime: before 1859

    1. 1840 with drapery to 1891 quarter.

    2. 1839 no drapery half dollar.

    3. 1840 with drapery to 1858 dime.

    I don't know Seated except for dimes. I'm going to go out on a major limb and say the 3rd one is an 1856 dime. If not, then I vote half dime image

    No one has yet to guess the demonminations correct yet. Yes, all the coins are from the 19th century, but I was hoping a tad closer. No hints just yet, but keep on guessing. I'm surprised at how few can guess the denominations.

    Notice that the rotation of the stars on the second coin is different from coins 1 and 3.

    I showed dismeguy a dateless dime at the ANA and he identified it from the reverse alone. That guy is scary image

    Interesting observations. JCPING got it closest. The top is an 1861 Quarter (PCGS MS-64), the middle is an 1861-O half dollar (PCGS MS-63) and the bottom is an 1850 Dime (PCGS MS-62). To me, they are easy to identify the denominations. I could have only guessed at the dates, but I could have been close.

    The third coin is a dime of course. Looking at the date width and the Denticle Ruler position of the 1 digit, I would guess it to be an 1856 dime.

    The first coin cannot be a dime or half dime. The slanted shield and drapery are a dead give away. I'm weakest with 20 cent coins so I guessed a quarter.

    Gerry - I'm in good company as I also guessed #3 was an 1856, but I know that's wrong.

    I'm too late too.
    I knew the denominations, and that the quarter was a type 2 obverse, first used in 1859.
