100th post firey coin give away

Catchy title for my 100th post. I do have a coin to give away, it is an Illinios state quarter that was hidden in some bushes where I found it when I was camping with the family last weekend. It was quite a find and of course my first thoughts were to the Holey of Holeys. The initial suprise of the find would have made his heart jump because when I found it, it was all swollen and looked like it had a doughnut inside of it. Well, the coin had been thrown in a campfire by the previous owner and the clad metals seem to have deformed at different rates, hence the doughnut effect but other than being blackened, it has good surfaces. Coin goes to first one that thinks he/she should have it in order of the posts...by default (I can understand if no one is driven to make a convincing argument) it will go to the Holey.

I've attached a photo of one of my favorite indians for my 100th post. It is one of those au 58's that it would be easy to pay ms money for because it is beautiful. This forum has been such a nice thing and oddly enough, even with a few errors in my posts, I haven't been beat up too badly so I'm grateful for all the fine folks here for a nice reception. The only question that needs to be settled is: Am I still a newbie? Ive been buying all of the books that Longacre has discovered and I have been studying hard, not slackin at all, lookin at auctions and all the posts and lookin at lots of indians day after day so I don't feel like a newbie but I may still be one so I just had to check. See, I can even post pics now.

The coin should go to me since I live in Illinois. I will give it the proper burial it deserves.

    I'll take a stab.....

I want to start an "error collection" and while this isn't an error, it would be interested to see what it looks like! image
  • I would really like the coin.

Being from Texas, I am certainly sensitive to the empathy shown by rlawsha regarding the ultimate fate of this Illinois state coin. It is only right that the coin should be buried in Illinois soil. Also rlawsha is the first to post a reason to have the coin so...if you will email me an addy, I will send this unusual coin to you rlawsha. Maybe you can post a little pic before it goes.

Thanks for the acknowledgement of the 100th post gonfunko...very funkly.

Geoman, I will look for another for you or maybe I should say "cook" another for you.

Coinerww, I will also look for another for you. There are a lot of coins on the ground where I work so who knows what will turn up.

Thanks for participating y'all...now go out and find some more nice coins!
