sorry if this is a double on the boards...new scam...received a message from paypal...looks legit....says confirming your payment of $56 to the shoewarehouse.....if this payment is not correct please login to verify

duh...bet a lot of people get so upset that they see a payment on their account that they login to this fake site and then have their own password stolen.....amazing what is going on....until these people are taken down with major crime time in jail this stuff will never end....anyway be safe out in cyber land...

  • bumping this topic as just today I have received two of these emails. To the new people, watch out!
  • I received one the other day saying the credit card associated with my Paypal account had expired, and I needed to login and change the card. The email conveniently contained a link to speed the login . . . .

  • My heart skipped a beat when I saw this email this week. It said I had sent $589.00 to someone. I quickly checked Paypal and saw that everything was OK. I am worried about the scam I don't know about that might bite me. I strive to be vigilant but this is getting crazy.
  • I haven't received one of those in quite a while now.
But my rule of thumb is to never use any links from an email. Always go to the website yourself.

Now caution is in order on the Ebay auction has ended email notifications. I have received fake "phished" emails on these
before, especially if it was a high end item.

Another thing is the "second chance" offer. Goto your MyEbay page and check this without using the link in the emails.
Confirm with the seller too. Some people have received these "second chance" offers that aren't real.

  • always forward this crap to spoof@ebay.com and spoof@paypal.com
