What are "No Heading PR" Lincolns?

I was checking out the Population Report, curious to see what errors are registered.

I found the category "No Heading PR" for Lincolns.

It lists 1968S, 1969S, 1970S, 1971S.

What are they and how do you identify them?

Thanks!

Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
  • There aren't very many of them, so I guess it doesn't surprise me that not many people know about them.

Maybe the circulation strike S-mints? But then they should have the 72, 73, and 74 too.....

CD, here is my "take" on this. The PCGS pop database somehow didn't include the 1936 satin & brilliant proof coins with the brown color designation in the regular brilliant proof grouping. Same for the 1968, 1969, 1970 LD & SD and 1971 Lincoln proofs with the red/brown color designation. At some point, I would imagine that the tech guys will combine these coins into the regular brilliant proof groupings. The pops of these coins do need to be added to the ones shown under the brilliant proof group to get the total for each of these years. Of course, the only statistics that matter in this one are the 1936 satin and the 1936 brilliant. Hope this helps explain it. Steveimage
