Very nice. I had a quite similar looking one in an ANACS non-FH MS63 holder once. Yours has just slightly nicer toning than mine did, though.

  • Fellas - I just looked closer...it's an NGC holder' not ANACS like I thought!.....but it's still an old slab...I guess that doesn't make much difference, I don't think I'll be cracking it anyway.

goldustin: That quarter is in the NGC 5 generation holder which was slabbed sometimes between 1992 and 1995. It is the most common variety encountered when a coin in a NGC "old holder" is offered. (A)

This was the first generation NGC slab that had the machine readable bar coding on the front label.

    (A) The information provided above was excerpted from Conder101's fine book "Third Party Grading/Certification Services" printed in 2003and also copyrighted in 2003.

The book is sold out, I believe, and we are waiting for an encore 2nd printing.

That's a nice coin, I would leave it in that holder too.

    hey Chuck

leave that bugger in the slab it's in or send for a cross holdered to PCGS. with everything that's happened with AT and related issues since 92-95 a nice coin in one of the old gen holders is somewhat legitimized and exempt from suspicion.
