Help with an Ebay sale....

Hi all,
Here's the situation. I sold a couple of GSA Morgans(one sale) an Ebay. The buyer who has 26 Positive no Negatives send me an email....
"My cousin is the one that bought this item. and would like the information to send you a check for the item. I am sorry if this is a hassle for you. Thank you for your help"
Now the question I have is, who do I send the coins to? The buyer(ebayer) or the person(cousin) who's name is on the check?
I'm thinking...take only a Money Order and send it to the Ebay buyer(not cousin) and use a "domestic return reciept" and I'll have a signed confirmation that the items were delivered to the Ebayer who made the winning bid...
Has this happened to any else?
Thanks
Tom

I'd simply wait for the check to clear the bank and ship it to whatever address they want it to go to.

As long as the eMail he received originated from the same address as the buyer has registered on eBay, I don't see a problem. Hacking an eBay account is one thing, but also gaining access to the user's eMail is very unlikely.
Edited to add: What's the dollar amount you're dealing with?

Thanks for the input.
His email adress is basicaly the same as his Ebay user name and it matches the email adress that is posted on the "your item sold email" from Ebay. As far as I'm concerned I don't see a problem with a "weird or off the wall" email being sent to me. Just never had a buyer saying the check will be from some else. The buyers Phone number was also included in the Ebay email. I might just call him tommorow to confirm.
The amount is around $550
Thanks

I agree, if the guy was such a friend to let his "cousin" pay on your auction he will be in delivering it also.

It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.
