For goodness sakes, what does the post office have against DMPL dollars?

Well they lost some of my best ones last month, then in my sorrow I spring on a beautiful 1885-O PCGS MS63 DMPL to replace the one I lost. And the friggen plane crashes! I kid you not! I'm sorry two men also perished in the accident but all priority and first class mail coming into our area went down in the mountains. I contacted the post office and they've told me, that once the NTSB, and the other investigating agencies are done with the pieces, IF, there are any left, they'll get them to us. Oh, why me, I guess I'd better find something else to collect.
Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

The P.O. apparently doesn't like Reeded Edge Bust halves, either.

Or maybe one particular employee DOES like Reeded Edge Bust halves. image

Yep, two local men, one was a long time pilot and trainer, who flew this route for years across the state carrying all priority mail. Their aircraft apparently lost all power and they crashed.
    Prost!

I do understand the loss of human life but it's the most sad, and ironic event, especially after having lost that same coin a month ago.
    Prost!

Goober, it looks like your rant was taken out of context.

idocoins, Of course we all (Including goober) care about the two that perished in the plane accident. Some of us also care about the trees that were murdered when the plane hit them as well, I noticed you didn't mention them. And what about all the wildlife that was harmed or effected by the burning wreckage? What about the recovery crews that have to drudge the mountains to clean up the wreckage or the families of the two men? I'm sure I'm missing allot here but please try to take the post in context, the guy wanted to comment about losing his coins twice. Don't read into it and be so quick to judge people.

Man these boards are going downhill fast!

For the love of GOD, how could I forget the Insects? I mean there must have been thousands of them...but now that were onto this, what about all the spores? The Algae, the bacteria...now were talking trillions of billions image Man it was a bad night.

Seriously though, we all care about people dieing, that goes without saying, for if we did not, we would be inhumane, and I don't think we have anyone here like that.

I guess I just reacted to what I read as well.

    Sorry for any attitude.

...and I left out this tidbit. Because it really is more of a USPS rant. I've spent years looking for a lithograph of a distant relative who painted in the late 1700's to early 1800's. He was a famous Austrian painter. His litho's I've found as cheap as $800 but more likely run in the low thousands. I found one a little over a week ago on Ebay. I couldn't believe it! Only paid $130 total! Wow! Seller packaged this like a tank, styorfoam, double bubble and a great box. Arrives from the post office with shattered glass and a sliced print.
    Prost!

I don't remember any Austrian painters named Goober. Something is definitely not right here!

  • Was it insured? Submit a claim. They can't argue the point since they KNOW the plane crashed.

Yes it was. Funny thing is, I've never purchased insurance on any shipment until I came to this forum. I can't remember which member said it in a post but they exclaimed they never purchase anything without getting the insurance for the peace of mind. Now if I could find that member I'd definitely hug him/her (hopefully it's a her).
