lincoln error ???

I was wondering if this was some type of error

  • It could be an error, but I am not sure. ttt for more knowledgeable lincoln people.
    Young Numismatist that collects: Morgan Dollars, SAE, Proof Sets, and Liberty Nickels.

  • I wasnt sure if it was an error but what got me wondering was the lib in liberty is actually on top of the waffle design and in god we trust is also

    Definitely not an error, someone laid the coin face-down on a steel mesh plate and struck it with a hammer. The portion of LIBERTY that was not affected is the area of lowest relief on the coin, so the waffle pattern is weakest there.
