This looks like a trick ebay photo

Toned Morgan

Do I detect a blue light being shined on this. Look at the reflection of the label.

No wonder the feedback is private.

  • It looks like all they did was increase the blue in the picture by using the "Enhance color" feature of most graphics editing programs such as IrfranView. If you notice the reverse shows a white holder and background, while the obverse has an overall blue tint. This will happen if you simply adjust the blue slider since it increases the entire picture and is not targeted to one area.

This guy is on the paranoid side.

The last coin I bought from him was real nice. But I got emails saying not to buy from him any more and I know why. Then he sent me his number and wanted me to call him.

I took his first advice and haven't bought from him again. He does read these boards and has been discussed in the past.

Why did he not want you to buy from him anymore, and why did he want you to call him??

  • He could be the world's greatest & best seller but with a private feedback I wouldn't buy a thing.

I don't recall ever seeing a lable "fade" to that color either.

I have seen yellow label PCGS's before....or am I imagining this???

I have bought a few coins from him...all actually looked better in hand. I think his "helping" of ebay photos actually hurt the true colors of his sale items.

I have to admit I was very leary of the private feedback status...but had no problems.
  • Personally, I find uneven or mottled toning unattractive, even on high grade pieces. Give me a blast white or uniformly toned piece every time. I find it odd, though, that this piece only shows toning on one side. Most of the toned pieces I have seen show similar patterns and colors on both the obverse and reverse. I suppose it's not impossible for a coin to oxidize on only one side, but I find it strange, that's all.

No way. eBay sellers never misrepresent their coins.
