That is most definitely cool. Extremely cool.

I have seen some jigsaw coins before, but with fewer pieces and never that intricately cut. Make you wonder how they did that so smoothly. Got a picture of it fully assembled? How closely do the edges fit together- how much metal was lost? Doesn't look like much.

Come to think of it, the jigsaw puzzle coin I remember seeing most recently was "virtual", and not a real coin. (I'm sure somebody could dig that link up- it was a Sac dollar, if I remember correctly).

That is very rough-cut. At first look I thought "plasma-cut", but plasma would not leave that burr and the pieces would fit much mnore tightly, obviously a fine-band table saw cut.

Very cool! I saw a Peace Dollar that was cut into a jigsaw puzzle on eBay a few months ago and almost bid on it.

Marty has to stop playing with his Cook Island coins and then figure out how to assemble this coin.....no instructions were included image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • That is really cool!!! I wish I had it!

it's not an individual piece, guys, just a mass produced puzzle that was done nicely. a dealer at the ANA had several, so you should be able to find one if Marty will tell which dealer it was.

  • The puzzle is done by a guy in Canada who uses a Jigsaw. He told me one year that he does this in his living room while watching TV. I have bought several of them over the years and he will do them on and coin that you send him for a fee. They cost about $25.00 bucks each on the low end depending on the coin cut. I gave him a modern commemorative a few years ago which turned out nice.

  • That is really neat.
I have seen some simpler ones before, where they have maybe two, three or four pieces.
But that many make for a great coin jigsaw puzzle.
I'll have to go look for tiny jig saw blades someplace now.

Based on reviewing security tapes, the wizard was seen buying something around these four tables:

    #1018 Fred Weinberg
#1118 All American Coin (Bob Bruce)
    #1218 Mish International
    #1318 Cybercoins.net

If it wasn't Bob, that narrows it to the other three.

I would have to go with the cybercoins, I know it wasn't Fred.

When I checked the ANA online directory, it said table 1318 was cybercoins.net. The show program and cyber's printed ad says they were at table 1007. The program says Ron Milcarek out of Greenfield MA was at table 1318. I don't know which listing is accurate.image
