Interesting cross-over results...from the big 4

Okay, I've basically been feeling like crap (bulged disk; pinched nerve; constipation...you name it) and have been home for over a month and I was bored and going insane, so I decided to do some cross-overs with all 4 companies......some remained in their holders, some were cracked open and resubmitted, and a few were submitted after a raw review.
Here are my results......

First....from GAI to SGC (still in the holder) total of 14 cards.
I wanted it in the same grade equilvalent. Here are the results:
1) 90 Score Can. M. Brodeur GAI 9.5 0 min. grade not met
2) 90 Score Can. M. Brodeur GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
3) 90 Score Can. M. Brodeur GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
4) 90 Score Can. M. Brodeur GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
5) 90 Score Can. M. Brodeur GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
6) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 0 min. grade not met
7) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
8) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
9) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
10) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 0 min. grade not met
11) 90 Score Can. J. Jagr GAI 9.5 0 min. grade not met
12) 90 Score Can. A. Mogilny GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
13) 90 Score Can. M. Modano GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint
14) 90 Score Can. J. Roenick GAI 9.5 SGC 98 Gem mint

Okay, I thought this was pretty good and I had picked out the best ones since I had multiples of each.....10 out of 14 is not bad. That gave me a lot of confidence in both GAI and SGC.
My next one is pretty funny......I'll only list the 5 cards (since there was a total of 6, but 1 was a new card put in the order). This one involves GAI and PSA. I had these cards pre-graded by GAI and they were all given a 9 mint. They were beauties. So here we go....
From GAI pre-grade 9 (submitted raw to PSA) to PSA:
1) 03 SPX J. Pitkanen GAI 9 Pre-Grade PSA 8
2) 89 OPC J. Sakic GAI 9 Pre-Grade PSA 9
3) 03 SPX J. Tootoo GAI 9 Pre-Grade PSA 10
4) 03 SPX J. Lupul GAI 9 Pre-Grade PSA 10
5) 03 SPX E. Staal GAI 9 Pre-Grade PSA 10

So, 1 went lower, 1 stayed the same, and 3 went up. Heck, I'm happy. My final experiment was a small one that came back with a friend's order. It involves PSA to BGS. Only 2 cards since I hate BGS and only wanted to give them the least possible money, and I was curious and wanted to see. I had (2) PSA 9 1991 UD Peter Forsberg both graded PSA 9. I didn't see anything wrong with them. Cracked both out, and off to BGS.....both came back 9.5 with straight 9.5 subs. Again, I'm happy....no complaints. Sold both to my friend who submitted it.

My big monster cross-over experiment just went out yesterday (Saturday). It involves GAI to SGC. I just sent 15 cards total still in their holders, and all the GAI cards are GAI 10 Perfect 1st graded. I want to see if it merits or equals to SGC 100 Pristine. I'll let you kow the results within 14 days since they're having a 5 business day special for their crossover. Since SGC 100s are rarely seen; I can't wait to see what they say.

Well, EEK, I don't know what to make of all this.... except that you might see a swing of a full grade in either direction on any given card, whichever grader you cross to. You pays your money and takes your chances. That being the case, I am amazed how some dealers price their GAI 8.5's up to twice as high as PSA 8. And PSA 10's sell for multiple times PSA 9. I'd hate to think that Gem Mint grade has as much to do with luck as it does with the card itself.
