Any seated half experts on the board?

I just got a 1862-S seated liberty half dollar with a mintmark that's quite a bit smaller than the norm for this date. I can find no reference to it or find another like it on the internet. Does anyone have knowledge of or a reference listing this coin?

  • It looks like the Type I reverse to me, so I'm guessing a Breen 4911. "S" looks to be medium sized. Maybe you can measure the width of the "S" and report back on it:

    1.65 mm = large S, Breen 4910
    1.4 mm = medium S, Breen 4911
    1.1 mm= small S, Breen 4912
