    Thanks Numismatic...

Thanks for posting the pic and thanks for the compliment. It is my favorite piece. It is not too expensive, it is just right. An ms 61, first year of issue, no motto (little story), and not so well struck. It is, however a really cool coin. Evenly colored with a uniform finish and no conspicuous dings other than the one on the 9 annoys me, and a nice ms 61 luster. The reverse is better than the obverse to my eye. I will post the reverse when I get my act together better on here. To me the eye appeal of this coin is very satisfactory as would be a nicer '07 that I will start looking for it when I'm finished doing what I'm doing with those 5's and 10's little indians.

The design of the coin is fairly controversial and it has a very interesting niche in our history. To me the coolest things about this coin are the 46 stars around the rim, I think her buck teeth are pretty interesting or maybe it is just an overbite but you have to be looking pretty closely to see them. It is a beautiful coin because the eagle is very stately and highly detailed in a low profile but in a rich way. No one can complete a set but I just like collecting them because they are interesting, valuable and still available to a regular guy. The peculiar thing about these two series is that while they are available on line, their live population floating around is somewhat scant. They must be around but if you go out for a Saturday afternoon you may not find even one ms coin in the 5 or 10 indian series. I have a ms63 and a 61 from later in the $10 series and they are particularly well struck and very pretty in their own right but this '07 is quite the piece of cake for now.

Well, just a little verbage on the coin. I could go on but I'm still a bit of a newbie. Thanks again!

    Mike
