A rather unusual offering. Are the proceeds going to a coin club or other organization?

Why so long until the drawing.... April 2005????

Well being the first time trying this I knew there would probably be some unforeseen issues with this raffle that the added element of rush and time pressures could be avoided with a well in future selected drawing date.

Also I wanted to produce and distribute raffle tickets that picture the coin along with the drawing date printed on it. Going ticket by ticket with the communication and all I did not know how long this would really require. Also I think the apprehension can build more with the participants when each has in hand well before the drawing a ticket looking at that coin knowing that they have a decent chance to win it. Therefore I arbitrarily picked April 1, 2005

Its all just for fun. If anyone wants to back out, just mail be back your ticket(s) and I'll refund you in full as long as received well before the drawing date.

Also, since no tickets have been sold yet to non-members, I am now closing this raffle off to any non-members. If a non-member had won, I would guess the doubting Toms here who do not know me would cry foul. Therefore someone here and only here will win this wonderful morgan, even if not one more ticket sells.

Maybe it's just me , but isn't this like a lottery,
which is illegal to run without a permit.
And aren't there some board rules about this?
    Just wondering.

which is illegal to run without a permit.

Sorry and no offense to anyone intended. Just thought of trying something different for fun to stir the pot a little. If it matters, this will definitely not be profitable for me with the coin I've selected, ticket pricing, handling, paypal and so forth.

If this is against the rules, maybe the board police here can pm me. I can stop it and refund everyone who has already purchased tickets.

    Alan

Editted 3/10/05: No responses with any legal or board problems...Can not stop it now. Far from a sell out so the few ticket holdering members here have really good odds and the house will definitely take it in the shortsimage
