Coin Collecting

I just what to say that i love coins!!!!!!! But i have had to pick just one. I see all the coins that you guys have on these forum and it makes me sick because i love all types. I have sold just about every coin i have to keep working on my morgan set and i still have a long way to go. I was reading a nother post that ask what was your favorite coin and i can't answer that because i love them all, but i had to stay with just the morgans because of MONEY.

I know what you mean! I want them all! The super expensive ones, the cheap ones, the ones made of chocolate! All! All! All!

MWA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Yes, it's often a fact of life that we are restricted to collecting only that which we can afford to collect. I profess to love BU Lincolns, but the fact of the matter is that they're all I can afford and there are many of them that I can't afford! lol. I totally agree with you guys who "love them all"! It's hard to choose a favorite among so many cool coins. Gold is cool. Buffs are cool too. But I guess my favorite might be Walker halves. No, wait. Lemme change that to Morgans. They are really cool! No wait, they're not as bright a gold or new copper...but ya gotta love those shades of pink and other colors on a BU SL Quarter! Oh jeez, help, lol.

  • As previously mentioned, your best bet to determine one or two sets to concentrate on. The easiest and a great learning experience is putting together a Mint State Type Set. This will give you 2 or 3 examples of the major coins struck during the period. you can then narrow choices for a complete set(s) and allow you to concentrate on a real Registry Quality Collection. Then when one or 2 sets are completed, you can move on to another series that you ENJOY, that's really the most important factor. The best to you and you came to the right place, you have many of the top experts (collector's & dealers) that will gladly share their professional expertise.

  • I'm working on a registry set right now thats what really got me trying to put a quality set together. I'm new to all this stuff so i don't know how to do a link, but if anyones interested my set is under Rex's Morgans in the Morgans with varities.
  • don't be upset...morgans are beautiful coins. if you're DYING to buy another coin, DO IT. you'll always be working on your morgans, but not buying anything else kinda takes the fun out of finding a pretty coin and buying it.
