  • Ron,
I'm game!! I recall when this place was a happening place and not sure why it's not anymore. Anyway, I think I was the third TRADER OF THE MONTH WINNER here after Joyce duncangal and after me it was jamie cardnyou. You was the first TOM around here. I don't see why we cannot get it going again. So who will be the Next CU TOM? I'll put up a prize to whoever can complete the most trades here at CU now thru the end of September. Just make sure you post the trade here and your trading partner leaves you positive feedback, with the most DIFFERANT CU Traders. Only 1 Trade per trader will count.
So jump right in, Lets put CU back into trading. And lets have some fun. You folks keep score and keep everyone updated. Who gonna be the first to complete a trade around here? Please ALWAYS check referance and if you are not sure make a post about who you thinking of trading with and if they Great traders or bad you will get some feedback on them. It feels like the good old days already, lets get CU BACK!!

    Thanks
    Mike

It sure would be nice for CU to come to the top again. I use to do over 1000 trades in a year and since the fun has gone out of trading, I do maybe 1 a month. so myself I would like to pick up the pace again.

this can be a great site again and there is still alot of very good traders in CU that just don't post much but when they see that CU is moving in the right direction again, they will post more and trade more.

    thanks

  • Perhaps we need separate Trading and Buy/Sell forums?

Seperate forums are not necessary. If people would just be a little more specific in their post titles, it would make it easier for everybody. This place used to be extremely active a couple of years ago, but then the nonsense got so out of hand that they were forced to put a moderator in here and we had to make rules. Many didn't like the rules, even though the sites that they said were so much better had the exact same rules in place. This forum can be fun if everybody takes the time and tries to be aware of who they are dealing with. If anybody has questions about other traders, ask the entire board as Mikefromchester has suggested. If somebody needs help with a trade, I have made myself available before and will do so again.
I have tons of refs available and just like to help everybody if possible. Anywho, have fun all.

I think having a seperate forum for buying/selling would be a good way to go...then, all the ebay and sell threads can go there, and those that just want to trade don't have to wade through all those posts in order to find what they are looking for. The trade threads too would stay up top longer and not get buried under all the sell and ebay threads.

If someone posts in the wrong forum, pretty simple to move the thread(s).

Well I believe ebay spam needs to stay out of here. As for seperate forums, this forum is offered as a free service by PSA. People should feel fortunate that they even offer 1 forum, but asking for more would be pushing it.

  • Although I don't look at the ebay posts, I don't see anything wrong with people posting their auctions, seeing this is a BUY/SELL/TRADE forum and they are trying to Sell. Now when people keep TTTing their ebay posts several times a day, then that's different.
  • yea, i dont see wats wrong with ebay posts, you dont have to look at the auction if you dont want to.
its not like it bumps post's down since there are hardly any posts anyway

I definitely agree... I have not been active lately and switched over to TR when this board started going downhill. The trading stopped and the b.s.ing skyrocketed. I still come back to trade or look for a trade once in a while but the place really hasn't changed, just a buncha spammers and very few people are interested in trading. and of course my cards suck so that doesn't help, but that's beside the point image... The boards are really dead and I would like it if this place got back to the point where it was when I first joined a few years back.

I don't trade much since I keep most everything I get. I do buy a lot, and don't mind the ebay auction posts
since I have found things and bid on. If they want, maybe make a seperate section for just auction posts,
which would include all the sections, coins, cards, records, etc. I've noticed most other places have it set up
    that way.

Yes, this is a Buy/Sell/Trade board for things to be offered here. Saying you're offering to sell things here by posting ebay auctions is sliding by with a technicality. The idea is to offer things to sell here specifically, not on ebay and then to provide a link. Ebay has a search feature. If I want to find your card on ebay, I can... I am also against the spam because no matter how hard we try to get people to be respectful about limitations such as 1 post for all of ones auctions or combining them with a trade post, there is always somebody who doesn't adhere and respect other members and their posts. People need to stop topping their posts 4 times a day. Once, if necessary is typically more than sufficient. Chances are, if you don't get a reply after the second time, then nobody is interested. Also, by allowing people to post ebay auctions, we also end up with people posting auctions for other collectors who are looking for something similar to what's in the auction (instead of PM'ing them). That's very generous and helpful, but why "post" an auction that isn't yours. We even get people posting auctions where they found something funny, or maybe they can't believe how much it sold for or they got a great snipe. These kind of posts are meant for the "sports talk" forum. That's kind of where we hoped to have the ebay spam posted too... Anywho, I don't make the rules so people will do what they want and that's fine. But when it goes back to the days when your post goes to the 4th page in ten minutes because of all of the crap being posted that doesn't apply to trading, you'll know the frustration...
