  • Yeah they send them out all the time, for all sorts of banks and companies.
    You can usually, right click on the message, select view source.
    Then in the HTML source code for the message, you can scroll down to the line "Click Here" and you'll see
    a special URL in front of the regular URL, it typically has a TCPIP address that is not the comany in question.
    They call this a "phishing" scam. The browser actually goes to the "hidden" URL and not the visible URL.
    Current Microsoft browser updates block this feature, but some people may have turned it on in their browsers.
    If I remember right you have to go in and manually add an entry into your registry, so I don't think the regular users
    will be turning this feature back on.
