1997 Matte Nickle Error found ....What do you think?

Hi everyone,I'm reporting it here first!!!
Found this in my Botanic Garden C&C set. This is a 1997 dated Matte Finish nickle. It has a small strike thru error on the first U in PLURIBUS.It appears to be a small strike through a bit of wire.As far as I know this could be the first and only matte-nickle error reported.LinkIt is still in its original package.I have debated who to send it to PCGS or NCG.Appreciate any opinion and advice.I used an Intel Play microscope to get the picture. Not bad for a $39 toy.image
It is a bit grainy but you can see it clearly. rich

Rich, I have a SBA 81-S Type 2 that is struck thru with the same type wire, I believe it is from the brush they use on the dies. I sent it to PCGS error service and they sent it back as a PR 67DCAM type 2 with no error noted, I called them and they said to send it back. Then it came back as "Error, minor struck-thru obverse" with no type 2 designation on the holder. Oh wellimage---------------------BigE

Thanks for the feed back BigE.It is a minor strike thru also .You need a 10X loupe to see it.But nonetheless, I am excited about it image !
How long did it take for them to get it back to you?I hear that there is a backlog.

    That's a really cool find.
I'd leave it in it's original package because even though it's rare there's no collector demand for that kind of error on that kind of coin so you'd just be wasting your $$ plus you'd be destroying 1 more original set that had a low issue anyway.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Thanks Dog97 for the advice.I think I will take it, and leave it intact.I want to keep it anyway. So, for now I will just enjoy it.image
