Have you found your Lucky Loonie yet?

The Royal Canadian Mint has come out with three versions of the Loonie to celebrate the 2004 Olympics. One is the sterling silver, one an uncirculated Special Edition, and the circulted ones, available in Canada at the Royal Bank, Canadian Post, etc or in a specially marked "Lucky Loonie" roll.

SEE THEM HERE You can also read the press release from the RCM website.

I found them at a cheaper price, including cheaper postage, on Ebay.

Sorry, they don't have any ships on them, Shipcoin, but they do have waterfowl imageimage

I got lucky with the help of Forum members to complete my & my sons' sets with the "Lucky Loonie", as well as the other available '04 circulating Canadian coinage - - including the 25-cent 400th Anniv commemorative ship coin!! Once again, beautiful reverses - - not fond of the latest obverse effigy, however........... I prefer my monarchs more "regal"-looking, with at least a crown or tiara!! Otherwise, just looks like the average charwoman!imageimage

I just got a roll off of eBay. The flyer the RCM sent me said these are only for sale in Canada and they won't sell to the U.S????

I believe that's because they are producing a limited number of the uncirculated and silver ones. You can buy them from other coin dealers and on Ebay, though.

  • <<Sorry, they don't have any ships on them, Shipcoin, but they do have waterfowl >> --actually something at the background from the left looks like a Cruiser for me image, but, unfortunatelly, I have tryed also enlarged image, to check it imageimageimage

Anyway, nice coins, Luwdawgs--and I'm collecting also other Canadian coins (and like very much namely 1 dollar different types coins), not only those, which have ships on them image

    Shipcoin:

I may have missed a prior thread on this, but are you aware of the "St. Croix" 400th Anniv commemorative circulating 25-cent piece this year in Canada?
