MJ Roop Boxes

I have seen a lot of people say these are good boxes. However they are pricey. Do you get a good quality product for your $60+? It looks like I am going to get one, but I would like some opinons. Also will they hold GAI certified packs? I know they will hold plenty of my PSA slabs and toploads but I have some certified packs floating around. If they will have a place to go even better. Thanks.

  • I just ordered the new wooden box and 11 more binders. If the box quality resembles that of the binder, you'll be pleased.

  • Not worth $60 - if I had paid $19.99 or less I wouldn't complain, but it not worth the money I paid for it. Expected the box to be made a little better, heavy point cardboard wrapped with some faux leather looking stuff that has wrinkles and buckles.

Is there actually a wooden box now, or are you referring to the same box that Jay is?

  • Yes, they finally have the new wooden box in stock. I can't really comment until I receive the product, but it's too bad that others don't like it.

I saw the old box at the National and was not overly impressed.

Looking forward to the wooden box.
  • Among being a card collector, manpower analyst and a pain in the wife's butt, I also run a small woodworking shop, mainly outdoor furniture. I've been pondering for some time now about building a box or something like an old apothecary's cabinet to house some of my slabbed cards. I haven't seen MJ Roop's new wooden box yet so I'll hold comment on it until I do. SO to pose a question for the more astute, what would you want the storage "thinghy" to look like and be able to do for you. Such as displaying your favorites, pull outs, drawer sizes, ect.....

I looked on their web site and they don't list the 'wooden' box - what is the cost?
    Thanx,

  • The new wooden box is $69.95 and the old model will be reduced to $49.95...I think. I just placed a large order, but combined certain years such as 1966 and 1967 OPC, due to small set size. There’s one way to save a little money, in addition to free shipping and a reduced per binder price when ordering five or more.

A slight dilemma is that the more cards I grade, the less that will be displayed in these attractive, but expensive, binders.

Currently, I have numerous Office Depot binders all over the house.

I own a few binders and two boxes and I would recommend both whole heartedly.

That box better have some thick coating and be fireproof to justify that price.
