<< <i>Looks like the seller ended all of the listings early. A few hundred emails and maybe a little pressure from Ebay did the trick. >>

At the moment, he has ended only 108 of his 677 auctions, and elected to sell one of these to the high bidder. (--who still bids on several of the remaining coin auctions). The 108 closed auctions were all for coins, and his inexpensive card auctions are still up. One bidder alone is "winning" the four priciest coin auctions for a total over $31,000.

  • a sane hunch would be this ebayer may be looking to get a couple of hun thou in in just a week or so, doesnt really have a "permanent residence" so no loss or concern there. he(she) got just enough data into ebay via some bogus and ambiguous info to open a seller account, a most transparant of a story behind the way deals are gonna go (then it'll be his grandma decided to run off to the bahamas, etc), he(she/they) gonna get a couple a hundred thousand bux in real fast and "poof" gone, never to be caught red handedly. kind of like fred serafino who is still on ebay waiting for another 1 month batch of a hun thou in $$ of burns on buyers which he does about 2 or 3 times yearly and then moves right on to any # of willing convicts who will allow him to use their info and set up a po box in their name(s) for a small cut of the con $$ to get in the bux quickly. zzzip! they shut down and simply start over. personally i dont think ANYONE, especially unknowledgeable collectors, grandson bob with an inheritance should not be allowed on ebay without a very extensive and proveably attachable way to get at or legally reach anyone who is registered on ebay. period. too many bs'n chumps, con artist, grindy collectors with axes to grind, cheaters, liars and skimmers off the top, wannabes who turn south, etc out there in the coin world as we know it....they're allover these boards too

Are you implying that this seller is the return to eBay of Fred Serafino (ctnumisaut, ebc800, fampak, ryandavidcoins, and many other former IDs?) I think that Fred learned from his mistakes and eventually added a picture to his coin auctions in the last couple of NARUed accounts. He had some lame excuses and lots of interesting negative feedback, but he never used the excuse that his grandma and his coins went missing to the Bahamas.

I still expect eBay will NARU this seller before the rest of his coin auctions close. If not, it will be interesting to read the feedback. If a winning bidder is called "u lyin' piece of garbage" then we'll know that you are right about the return of our favorite eBay coin scammer.

  • no wasnt implying that is fred, his m/o is much more sedate and he gets away with it every time. and you left out about 4 other fred id's. however, the "click" in the dealer community is fred still gets around daily incognito buying his rippoff wares at shows and junk markets and is indeed currently on ebay under at least 2 id's. there are several who are still trying to criminally recover from fred and are aware of his very spurios movemets. no current id names, etc but the dealer community knows ol fred and sees him buying up junk all the time sometimes in disguise, sometimes at those weirdo estate sales and junk auctions,etc...
  • i see he racked up a neg already !
suppose thats a forum member ?

    DUH

  • what would happen ?
if everybody here bought something and refused to pay ?
he wont be around long enough to file NPB warning !
and the forum could rack him about 200 negs in a couple hrs.

That area code belongs to the Mojave desert area of Los Angeles county, which is where Katz is (Palmdale CA).

I did not read the whole thread yet, but the seller has been negged. image
  • musta missed that switch.
shows ya how often i call Palmdale !

  • I can't image a grandfatherly person getting into selling this kind of stuff, unless he was filthy rich and did it for sole purpose "for his grandson". This will be interesting to watch. I wonder what happened to the coins ????

More coincidence may be found by discovering that the letter T is 6 letters Ahead of the letter Z.

  • I emailed the guy and asked him about shipping and if he had any coins, because he name said 'coins'. Here is his reply:

Shipping is free.I did have and i pulled them from ebay.I'm taking offers but there high priced.Someone was unhappy about me pulling the auctions and gave negative feedback saying i'm a fraud. They also turned me into ebay.I have sent all i need to verify myself with ebay and they are taking care of the situation.Thank you,

Yep. Mark Feld did the same thing a few weeks back with that (now indicted) woman who was selling the GMM fakes with word "COPY" obliterated.

I got this email from eBay yesterday:

Subject: FA91002 Your recent email to eBay's Trust and Safety Department (KMM128030579V28408L0KM)

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to eBay with your concerns.

I have reviewed your email and wanted to let you know that we are in the
process of investigating the contact information of the seller you are
reporting. This process usually takes 1-2 days. If we are unable to
obtain valid contact information for them, they will be suspended from
    using our site.

You can review the status of another member's account by looking at
their member profile. To view another member's profile, please follow
    the steps below:

    1. Click the "Search" button at the top of any eBay page.

    2. Click the "find members" button that will appear below the Search
    button.

    3. On the "Find Members" page, enter the UserID of the member in the
    "User ID History" section.

Suspended members have a text line saying "This person's no longer a
registered eBay user" in their User ID History.

At this stage, it is best for you to hold off sending payment to the
seller until you have been able to confirm their user status and the
other details of their contact information.

If there is no change to your seller's membership status within 1-2
days, you can assume that their contact information has been updated. At
that time, you can request their revised contact information. To request
your transaction partner's contact information, please follow the steps
    below:

    1. Click the "Search" button at the top of any eBay page.
    2. Click the "find members" button that will appear below the Search
    button.
    3. On the "Find Members" page, scroll down to the second box, labeled
"Contact Information" and follow the instructions there.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write to eBay's Trust and Safety
department. I appreciate your continued help in keeping eBay a safe and
    fair place to trade.

    Regards,

    Maude
