Need forum help

Hi Guys.. I have a problem that someone maybe able to help me with. I live in a small college town and some student has started a local forum. The problem is, people are talking trash. Not only about my business but others as well. These are students that have nothing better to do than hide behind a password and user name. I posted my real name and phone number and told them if anyone had a problem with myself or my business to call or come by. All I got a ration of grief. Now it's really getting ugly. Is there anything professionally I can do to have the site shut down? Or maybe talk to a lawyer? It's really starting to get under my skin.. Thanks guys..

Chad

Also, the site keeps growing and it really can't be good for our town..

Is the site on a college network (*.edu?) If so, you might contact the college....

If you can "prove" that it is hurting your business/credibility I believe you can. First thing I would do is send a nice letter to the Dean explaining the situation providing quotes and or links.

Make sure you send it certified and keep everything. Give the the Dean a week to "rectify" the problem. (something like "I would appreciate it if this is resolved in the following week")

Then after that if it is not contact a lawyer explaining what you have done to "solve" the problem. If they are using the "schools" backbone and or servers Im sure the lawyer will be able to take care of things for you.

  • I kick asses on the side. There are certain levels of each a$$ beating. Go ahead and PM me and I will give you the breakdown. Ex - 2 black eyes ( $75 ), break 2 fingers ( $80 each ), etc..

Of course you would have to cover my hotel and travel expenses.

    Just kidding by the way.
7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

There was a hilarious auction a couple of years ago where a guy said he'd come kick someone's ass for a fee.
It was a very funny read. I wish I still had the page saved.
Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
  • Thanks guys for all the advice. As of today the site is no longer up. But, I'm still checking air fare and I know I want at least two broken fingers!!! Maybe a arm, hell let's just take the tongue...

Tongues are usually a bit tough. Almost always a struggle. The best I can do is $119.

I won't make any promises, but you may get a few teeth in the deal too. Depends how much he wants to fight. LMK... image)
