I finally got my hands on some slabs today. My first submission ever to ANACS came back in the mail.
Check out the pictures.
I didn't realize how small slabs are! I always thought they were bigger, you know, close to hand sized. But, I guess it makes sense that they're smaller.
I also really really like slabs! I think I could get addicted to submitted (I've got 2 other orders already in, one at ANACS, one at PCGS).
You're all probably wondering why some of these got submitted.
The 1/2 Sovereign was submitted, just to get it certified so that it was easier to sell.
The two quarter eagles were a friends and he just wanted to get the grades on them, the 1906 is sweet!
Finally, the 1889 $3 is my baby. I think it wouldn't make it into an MS slab from PCGS, but it's nice to see it from ANACS.
The coin has been in my family for a long time, but was found again in 1991 when my Grandmother passed away and we found it in a Kitchen Drawer.
I dug it out of the Safe Deposit box (where it's going back to) and submitted it, since it really deserved it.

ANACS slabs are much smaller than PCGS or NGC. They are a great company, but I've never been all that happy with the look of the slabs.
