Guess I'd have to agree. I could have 5 MS64 or 3 MS 65 Saints instead of a MS68 Morgan. While a MS68 will always have demand for type sets, the Saints are made of gold.

  • You I might not be very knowlegable but that doesn't look MS68 to me, more like MS-67 or MS-66, but thats just my opinon. I really would have to agree with everyone, alot better can be bought instead of that.

I also don't like that black mark in her hat thingy on the obverse.

This coin is a perfect example of wasting money on a supergrade common date. For less than $400, you can buy this date in 66, with maybe just an extra mark. Take the other $3k and buy a really scarce date.

I think im more concerned about appeal than grade so if I had the money and was collecting these I would probably have to pass, i've seen better examples, atleast in my eyes. That said, its still a great coin.image

  • I wonder how many times it had to be submitted before it finally made it to 68? Or maybe that is the MS 65 I heard about that was cracked out of an old rattler and submitted back in the early 90's and came back as 68.
  • That is such a beautiful coin.

Not too long ago I sold an 80-S PCGS 67 PL and this coin the MS68 looks nicer. I have to say in comparison that this coin is graded correctly.
