PICTURES...help??

What size do pics have to be to put in a post??

    Under 50k if you want to upload them to CU. If you use a free hosting service like Photobucket, they can be any size you want.

    50K can still be pretty decent. It's all a matter of cropping and saving. I found that a good size for 50k is roughly 400x400 pixels with medium jpeg resolution. Here is an example of one that is around 46k.

  • If your service provider gives you webspace, your pictures will be a lot better if you host them on your own space. I find with the 50k limit, jpeg compression kills photo detail.

    If you want PCGS to host your pictures, and to have them appear in your posts as images instead of links, once you've resized your pic, go to the test forum and create a dummy post. Attach your picture to the dummy post, and click on the pic to display it. Then, right click on the picture's address and copy it. When you create your real post on the coin forum, click the image box at the top of the screen and paste in the address you've saved for the picture's location. image

    Thanks guys...I posted my first pics on the SET REGISTRY board just now, under SAINT REGISTRY SET...New pic.
