Rules for the 1st Annual “Show Off your Toners”
1. Anyone entering a coin MUST be a member of the TCCS
2. Coin(s) entered must be owned by you.
3. If you’re a Dealer, coin must be part of your collection and not part of your Inventory that is currently for sale.
4. Only 1 coin can be entered in each category per person. (We only have limited space - 1 case - when its full entries will be closed)
5. Must be at the Scheduled Meeting at 11:30 am Thursday August 19th in Room 323 David L. Lawrence Convention Center to put your coin(s) in the single case that we will have for display purposes. (Thanks to Tonekiller for agreeing to supply us with a case).
6. Your coin(s) MUST have your name on the side that is NOT up for display. Raw coins in some type of Holder are acceptable but PLEASE NO coins that are not in some type of protective holder.
7. Best toned coins will be determined by ballot - only TCCS members can vote - If there’s any interest, we may consider a “Best of Show” award.
I have no clue as to what prizes the winner will receive, maybe a certificate, maybe a toned coin (we’ll determine that when we get to Pittsburgh) - but we will publish the winners on our website and if anyone has a digital camera we’ll try and take photos to upload as well.
(Note to self: In addition to Eureka’s Scotch, Bring digital camera!)
US Coin Categories:
19th Century Coins: (includes Half Cents through Trade Dollars - Indian Cents, Liberty Nickels, Barber Coinage & Morgan Dollars are ALL included in the 19th Century category, even if dated 1900-1921)
20th Century Coins through 1964 when regular issue silver coinage ends:
(includes Cents through Dollars)
Modern Coins: (Clad Coins, Modern proofs, Modern Bullion SAEs, State quarters, and Modern Commemorative Coins)
Commemorative Coins (1892 Columbian through Washington Carver).
I'm sure I've forgotten something but I hope this covers the 1st Ever Show-Off Your Toners Contest - If this works, we'll do it again next year.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments - have at it

OK - so what if you have a holder with 2 coins you wish to enter - is that allowed?

Hmmmm? Don't know about that - maybe you'll have to designate 1 of the 2 coins - we have only limited space which is the problem - so if we get lots of "entrys" this would preclude others from entering - maybe we'll have to play that by ear because we don't know if we'll have 1 coin entered or 100.

<< <i>Ron: How about a category for 18th Century Coins ?? (See Author Icon coin for reference ) >>
Stuart, I did think about that - but space is limited - BUT if that series is also struck in the 19th century I suppose we could include it also - you coming to Pittsburgh just to enter that coin?
